You can inactivate or reactivate a prescription as needed.
Note: Inactivating and reactivating prescriptions requires the "Patient Prescriptions, Edit" security right.
To inactivate a prescription
In the Patient Prescription dialog box, select an active prescription.
Do one of the following:
Click the Inactivate Prescription button .
Click the View/Edit Prescription button . The Edit Patient Prescription dialog box appears. Click Inactivate.
If applicable, do one of the following:
If the Password - Patient Prescriptions, Edit dialog box appears, user verification has been assigned to the "Patient Prescriptions, Edit" task. Do one of the following:
If your user account has been granted the "Patient Prescriptions, Edit" security right, enter your credentials in the User ID and Password boxes, and then click OK.
If your user account has not been granted the "Patient Prescriptions, Edit" security right, have a user with permission temporarily override this restriction so you can inactivate a prescription this one time. The overriding user enters his or her credentials in the User ID and Password boxes and then clicks OK.
If a message appears, informing you that you do not have rights to this operation, your user account has not been granted the "Patient Prescriptions, Edit" security right. To have a user with permission temporarily override this restriction so you can inactivate a prescription this one time, do the following:
On the message, click Yes.
In the Password - Patient Prescriptions, Edit dialog box, the overriding user enters his or her credentials in the User ID and Password boxes and then clicks OK.
If the Edit Patient Prescription dialog box is open, click Close; otherwise, ignore this step.
To reactivate a prescription
In the Patient Prescription dialog box, if the inactive prescriptions are hidden, to show the inactive prescriptions, click the View Inactive Prescriptions button .
Note: If the inactive prescriptions are being shown, the View Inactive Prescriptions button is highlighted to indicate that it is active .
Select an inactive prescription.
Do one of the following:
Click the Inactivate Prescription button .
Click the View/Edit Prescription button . The Edit Patient Prescription dialog box appears. Click Activate.
If applicable, do one of the following:
If the Password - Patient Prescriptions, Edit dialog box appears, user verification has been assigned to the "Patient Prescriptions, Edit" task. Do one of the following:
